Mow Down Pollution Weld County Grant Opens October 19th, 2026
Grant Overview
The Mow Down Pollution grant helps landscaping companies, local governments, and other public organizations transition from gas-powered tools to clean, quiet, electric equipment. Funding may support a wide range of equipment, including:

Lawn mowers (push and riding)

Trimmers and weed whips
-
Leaf blowers
-
Chainsaws
-
Other eligible electric lawn and garden tools
Funding
Applicants must apply for and be awarded funding before purchasing eligible equipment. Funding applications will be reviewed by our selection committee with awards up to $20,000.
Eligible Entities
Landscaping businesses and public entities located or operating in the following areas:

Berthoud, Brighton, Eaton, Evans, Firestone, Fort Collins, Fort Lupton, Frederick, Garden City, Greeley, Hudson, Johnstown, Keenesburg, Kersey, LaSalle, Lochbuie, Longmont, Loveland, Mead, Milliken, Platteville, Severance, Timnath, Wellington, and Windsor
Businesses applying to the program must show certificate of Good Standing with the Colorado Secretary of State Office.
Applicant Matching
All applicants will be required to contribute a 30% match for the total purchase of new battery-powered electric equipment. For example, if you receive a $15,000 grant, you will need to make a $19,500 total purchase, including grant monies. You may also qualify for an additional 30% state discount.
Recycling
You must recycle your old gas-powered equipment to receive a grant. You can find a list of recyclers here.
Vendor Selection
The Mow Down Pollution program is partnered with Ace Hardware. Before you apply to the grant, you will need to work with a participating Ace Hardware store or another retailer of your choice to create a quote for the equipment you want to purchase.
